Re: Contribution of test cases to WebVTT development

Hi Silvia,

I started looking at the tests that you've sent and have the following
comments.

In general there is a mismatch between the naming of the files in the
HTML (use of _) vs the names in archive (use of -). Then some numbers
are not matching either. It seems that there was a problem for test
cases between 5 and 8. For instance, tc008_metadataarea.vtt mentionned
in the html is actually named tc005-metadata-area.vtt. Same,
tc008_defaultstyles.vtt is tc005-default-styles.vtt.

Some more detailed and interesting (I hope) comments :

In tc005-default-styles.vtt you write:
"COMMENT-->
this is a comment, that will parse as part of the header;"
I don't understand why it is not parsed as an invalid cue, because of
the presence of "-->" (step 37in the parsing algorithm).

In tc011-cues-no-separation.vtt, I don't understand why you indicated
"Cues must be separated by at least one blank line, otherwise treated
like one big cue." (step 43 in the parsing algorithm).

In tc027-empty-cue.vtt, I don't understand "Empty cues should be
discarded and ignored." (step 42).

Thanks in advance,
Cyril
