Doing that in a new message does not really do much good, and it is a
poor practise to do so because Reply-To takes precedence when someone
tries to respond in private, and with W3C mailing lists "reply to all"
is the typical mode of operation, where Reply-To would not help.

Both problems can be avoided by putting W3C mailing lists that should
not be copied on replies into BCC. The mail system does not filter that
out (not when I do it anyway, there might be some filters so this can
not be done by random spammers without moderator review).

Some http://tools.ietf.org/html/draft-ietf-drums-mail-followup-to-00
attempts have been made to copy the Usenet "Followup-To" header to mail,
but I do not think there has been much success in the area. I suspect
with support for List-* headers improving, it might actually get harder
to channel replies to crossposted mails to specific lists.
