Reminder - copyright & artificial intelligence in creative sectors

Dear team of Text and data mining reservation protocol community group,
I would like to kindly remind you that you may participate in the survey on copyright and artificial intelligence in the creative sectors until May 14th. The link to the survey continues to be the following: https://technopolis.limequery.com/142659?lang=en

This survey collects opinions from stakeholders in the creative and cultural sectors on the challenges and uncertainties that the use of artificial intelligence brings in relation to intellectual property.
It covers relevant issues such as:

· The use of copyright works to train artificial intelligence

· Authors/rightholders expressing that their creative work cannot be

used for training artificial intelligence

· Absence of protection for output created by artificial intelligence without human artistic decisions

· Authorship of creative output entirely generated by artificial intelligence

· Performers right of creative output entirely generated by artificial intelligence
The study is conducted on behalf of the European Commission (Directorate General CNECT). Please find the endorsement letter signed by the European Commission in the following link: https://www.technopolis-group.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/Letter-of-support_DG_CNECT_CR_and_NewTech-1.pdf

The survey contains two questionnaires in one. Based on the knowledge of the respondent on the topic of copyright, the questionnaire branches off into two paths: one for legal experts and another for stakeholders with less knowledge in IP law. The one for legal experts has the form of a Delphi survey with two rounds (an explanation of the concept of the Delphi survey is given in the introduction to the survey).
We also gladly invite you to distribute it to interested stakeholders in your network (e.g. peers, members of associations, etc.).
The answers will be analysed anonymously, and the results will be presented in aggregate form in the report of the study. They will enrich the discussion on different policy scenarios for tackling legal issues identified by the legal team working in this study. The report will be published by the European Commission.
Should you feel that you are not the right person to take part in this research, please do not hesitate to forward this email to another person in your professional circle or your organisation who could share relevant views and information.
Please do not hesitate to contact me in case of questions. Many thanks in advance and looking forward to hearing from you.
Best regards,
Dr. María del Carmen Calatrava Moreno
