Hello, The latest developments on the Telephony API: - the spec has been renewed (still contains small errors) - implemented as a Crosswalk native extension (currently only for GSM) by Intel - a reference dialer app using the API is under work - CfC passed but the current version will still change. The latest issues: - the API is still not stable enough - new discussions with Mozilla and Qualcomm about handling GSM multiparty vs CDMA 3-way calls. The spec is likely to change because of that. There is an experimental version under work which separates CDMA and GSM handling into different namespaces, e.g. telephony.cdma and telephony.gsm. Whichever direction this will go, updating the existing Intel implementation would be quite easy. Deadline for settling this would be end of this year. Ways forward: - there is only one implementation of the API - Mozilla has an implementation of Telephony which is slightly different, but the viewpoints have gotten closer during the past weeks. Thanks Hsin-Yi. - if the new version under work can be agreed upon, my personal hope is to be able to get back on the standards track - otherwise the Telephony spec may be better at home in a CG than a WG. I will likely not be able to attend the F2F session at TPAC in the designated time slot, therefore this report stands for that. However, I hope to be able to remotely join the chat about other API's from 9am to 3pm, perhaps until 4pm. Best regards, Zoltan
