Research Assistant/Doctoral Student in Database systems or Human-computer interaction

The Dynamic and Distributed Information Systems Group at the Department 
of Informatics of the University of Zurich announces two funded research 
doctoral-student position in the areas of database systems, Semantic Web 
or human computer interaction. The positions are for a period of 3 years 
(with the possibility of an extension to the end of the thesis) and 
requires a recent university study in informatics, computer science, 
computational linguistics, computer visualisitics, or a related field.

The successful applicant will be responsible for collaborating in a 
larger research team consisting of the Dynamic and Distributed 
Information Systems Group (DDIS).

International and Swiss National research projects and we are looking 
for the candidate to help us continue these efforts.

The successful candidate will have:

    * a master degree in informatics, computer science or computational 
linguistics (or an equivalent university study)
    * interest in either
          o Database systems, or
          o Human-computer interaction
    * good command of English
    * some ability to at least speak German would be preferable but is 
not necessary
