data mining and semantics

Dear List members,

I plan to research the topic of "data-mining technologies for semantic
re-mapping" where the aim is to transfer the large bulk of data captured
in the database to the ontology instances. Has anybody come across
similar topic hence resources (i.e. papers, articles)? 

Any pointers will be helpful.
