Joseph, I mean any Model Driven Architectures, i.e. meaningful, high level models that can be build which can then relate to some of the SWS ideas. The obvious one is petri-nets for composition, and even executable UML for the services themselves. But is that the limit of what can be achieved in the SWS arena in terms of modelling and this MDAs? regards, Sam J Watkins ------------------------------------------------------------------- Next Generation Web Research, BT Tel: +44(0) 1473 60963 -----Original Message----- From: Chiusano Joseph [mailto:chiusano_joseph@bah.com] Sent: 03 November 2004 14:37 To: Watkins,SJ,Sam,CXR3 R; public-sws-ig@w3.org Subject: RE: MDA and the semantic web... Are you speaking of MDA as in OMG's Model Driven Architecture? Or do you consider "model design architectures" to be a separate and unrelated concept? Kind Regards, Joseph Chiusano Booz Allen Hamilton Strategy and Technology Consultants to the World _____ From: public-sws-ig-request@w3.org [mailto:public-sws-ig-request@w3.org] On Behalf Of sam.watkins@bt.com Sent: Wednesday, November 03, 2004 9:31 AM To: public-sws-ig@w3.org Subject: MDA and the semantic web... Dear all, I do appreciate that this may be something that has already been discussed in the news group... Yet, I have been talking to someone about the future of computing and MDA's (model design architectures) came up along side the semantic web but not combined. Obviously, we are all looking at MDA's from the work-flow point of view, i.e. petri-nets for work-flows. Also, mediation is feasible... graphically joining items up and placing axioms on the joins. Has anyone looked at using MDA's for other parts of the UI for semantic services? Apart from petri-nets are there any other meaningful MDA's available/applicable? Aside from using a separate tool for producing executable UML, is this a reasonable thing to consider? I would appreciate any guidance on this and a point in the right direction, or some good news in that all this has already been discussed and the results, regards, Sam J Watkins ------------------------------------------------------------------ Next Generation Web Research, BT Tel: +44(0) 1473 609636 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- British Telecommunications plc Registered office: 81 Newgate Street London EC1A 7AJ Registered in England no. 1800000 This electronic message contains information from British Telecommunications plc which may be privileged and confidential.
