my intro Chair address and Plan ahead

Greetings all-

*My turn to intro:*
I was born in Italy, but lived abroad most of my life and moved permanently
to the UK over twenty years ago-
I am a  former science and technology correspondent out of London, and
lecturer in information systems
since the arrival of the web have  devoted most time
to understand how it works , what can it do for humanity, and what can
humanity to for the web
Have met a few people on this list at various conferences in places around
the world
I am a reasonably skilled web user, but never got far with RDF/OWL. I blame
the lack of good User Interfaces
although I think there are more issues.  I have written and published
extensively on this and other subjects

You ask : what are the duties?
Good question.  From my understanding of the Community Guidelines, 'we'
need to collectively decide
what we want to achieve and how to achieve it, my guess is that Chair and
VC need to ensure
that whatever the group decides, is more or less carried out in the
smoothest possible way

This is why I thought it would be a good idea to ask everyone's input
May I take the opportunity to remind ourselves that to make a plan we may
benefit from everyone views:-)
