One of the exciting things that has happened in SWICG earlier this year (April/May), is that the CG submitted a proposal to the W3C management for a new Social Web Working Group charter scope. This came after many months of group discussion on the https://github.com/swicg/potential-charters issues, mailing list, and monthly group calls, culminating in a group vote during the April monthly CG call (https://github.com/swicg/meetings/tree/main/2025-04-04). The proposed WG charter is now making its way through the W3C WG formation process (you can follow the progress on the issue https://github.com/w3c/strategy/issues/435 ). However, Bengo has pointed out that we have not actually sent out a Call for Proposal email to the SWICG mailing list (as is stated in our Community Group Charter https://swicg.github.io/potential-charters/CGCharter-1727386911.html (adopted earlier this year in February)). This oversight is entirely my fault; deep apologies to the community. Better late than never, though -- this email is that formal CfC for the proposed WG charter. This is a chance for anyone here on the mailing list that has missed the github discussions or monthly calls, to voice concerns, etc. Usual 14 days comment period applies, from the charter. Thank you, everyone, on your hard work on this group and charter. Looking forward to collaborating on specs in this and the coming year! Dmitri
