Re: Nov 24 8am PT account portability TF catchup

Minutes from today - portability TF

Agenda bashing:
* feedback on how the implementations are going
* request another regular meeting

Ben’s Bandwagon work
* Close to having account portability working
* many internal objects to handle in addition to ActivityPub objects
* 2 things have come up
* First thing: oauth endpoint
  * We’re using a second OAuth endpoint instead of the standard OAuth
endpoint - what’s the reason for that? OAuth has several URLs, including
where to connect offline for a token… why can’t we use the same OAuth
endpoints
  * Lisa thinks that it should be OK to use the same OAuth endpoints and
this was certainly the intent writing the text. The intent was that the
implementor/operator can choose to have the same OAuth provider or not
  - [Lisa Todo] Change recommended: be very clear that the OAuth endpoint
that’s advertised for account portability MAY LIKELY BE the same endpoint
used for client login
    - [Lisa Todo ] Also add token endpoint URL
* Second thing: having a scope? Yes we have one! Discussed how it is
intended to be a blanket “you can move your account” access

Aaron’s work
* [dtinit/activity-pub-testbed: A Django-based project designed to help
developers test and validate their ActivityPub implementations. This tool
enables users to replicate a test ActivityPub account on their own servers
and verify functionality by comparing test data. Ideal for ensuring
compatibility with the ActivityPub protocol and diagnosing interoperability
issues.](https://github.com/dtinit/activity-pub-testbed)
