Definitely understood! I don't disagree with the performance concern. I'm
just sad for everyone who's *not* Automattic, since afaik the default is
still to not serve Vary: Accept, so this will still happen to everyone
unless they know to override it...?

(I'd love to hear that I'm wrong!)
