I wonder whether FEP-ef61: Portable Objects [1] has some ideas that could be used to help with data transfer requirements, specifically porting over identifiers from one instance to another. The recent community report on Data Portability [2] does not mention it as far as I can see. Given that this FEP appears to be explicitly inspired by “nomadic identity” as in streams, perhaps going in this direction for data portability reasons eventually will get us closer to instance-independent accounts and other objects, which I believe we have as a longer-term requirement on the roadmap.
