Hi all, Just to update you on status and timeline for SKOS Core development ... The W3C SWBPD-WG is meeting face-to-face on November 1 & 2, and there is a deadline od Oct 25 for drafts to be reviewed at this meeting. I would like to be able to submit the SKOS Core Vocabulary Specification [1] as ready for publication as a working draft immediately following this meeting, so I will be actioning those current proposals that have good consensus during this week, in order that they will be in the document in time for review at the meeting. Any new SKOS Core terms I will include with an initial 'unstable' status, so that we will be free to make further modifications if any new objections are raised during the next two weeks. I have also begun work on a new SKOS Core Guide, the current state of which can be viewed at: http://esw.w3.org/topic/SkosCoreGuideToc I hope to get this into an early draft state by the end of this week, so that this document also may be reviewed at the SWBPD-WG face-to-face meeting. The current objective is to have this document ready for publication as a working draft before the end of November. One open question I have is whether to publish the Spec as soon as possible, with the Guide following after a few weeks, or whether to hold back publication of the Spec so that both the Guide and the Spec can go out together. What do you think? Yours, Alistair. --- Alistair Miles Research Associate CCLRC - Rutherford Appleton Laboratory Building R1 Room 1.60 Fermi Avenue Chilton Didcot Oxfordshire OX11 0QX United Kingdom Email: a.j.miles@rl.ac.uk Tel: +44 (0)1235 445440
