Hi, Folks- We're also having some W3C Team-internal discussions about our ISO PAS submission process, and clarifying for our own purposes issues around how much effort it takes (e.g. team or WG time) and realistic timelines; there are some conflicting data and opinions, and I want to be sure that we understand the realities and that we are conveying the best information to you folks. This might take a little bit; we'll keep you posted. I'd also like to make it clear that this isn't a particularly urgent topic; we've waited for a while on this, and we can start the process at any time. We don't want it to fall off our radar, and it would be good to have resolution on whether to submit SVG 1.1 or SVG 2 in a reasonable timeframe. But to do that, we need to look at the various constraints, costs, and benefits, and to have an accurate understanding of what's involved. There might also be political factors we should consider (ISO can be a battleground), and we should avoid as many of those as possible; after all, the goal is to break down barriers for SVG adoption, not introduce new ones. :) So, I'd like to ask if the SVG WG can hold on this until Chris and I have some better info. Is this okay? Also, Chris and I are happy to talk to anyone about their own experiences and concerns with ISO offline.
