Comments should be made by *25 February 2011*. In-progress updates to the document may be viewed in the publicly visible editors' draft at /WAI/PF/role-attribute/. PFWG approval to publish as Last Call is archived at http://www.w3.org/2010/12/08-pf-minutes#item11. General requirements for Role Attribute 1.0 are described in the Roadmap for Accessible Rich Internet Applications (WAI-ARIA Roadmap), which was last updated 4 February 2008 (http://www.w3.org/TR/2008/WD-wai-aria-roadmap-20080204/). The Role Attribute provides a mechanism to associate WAI-ARIA roles with elements in XML-based markup languages. There have been no Formal Objections raised.
