This test is good.  I would like to see a couple more sub-tests, though:

  * test that a z command in a <path> renders an end marker
  * test that movement commands in the middle of a <path> render mid
    markers
  * test that <line>s don’t render mid markers

Incidentally, IE seems to erroneously inherit some properties from a
<path> into the markers, e.g. see:
