ISSUE-2272 (star): Add new basic element for stars and regular polygons [SVG Core 2.0] http://www.w3.org/Graphics/SVG/WG/track/issues/2272 Raised by: Doug Schepers On product: SVG Core 2.0 For simplifying hand- and script-authoring, we should add a new element to allow the creation of stars, regular polygons, spirals, and other shapes. Dr. Olaf suggests the <polar> element, and has a sophisticated proposal for how it would work. This would allow for very mathematical (and visually appealing) shape representation. My early proposal: http://svg-whiz.com/experiments.html#basicShapes A longer thread: http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/www-svg/2005Aug/0070.html Dr. Olaf's <polar> element: http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Member/w3c-svg-wg/2007OctDec/0109.html
