Re: Proposal – extension for Athletics

Outstanding work Martin, thanks!

Aside from the SportsML referenced by Brendan, there was some extensive
modelling in this arena conducted between 2012 and 2014, which can be found
here:

Additionally, I and my colleagues at Electronic Arts have recently done
substantial modelling in support of more precisely describing competitive
video gaming events ("eSports").  There is significant overlap here between
our work and yours, as for the most part these gaming events involve the
same concepts as any other sporting event (competitors, qualification
criteria, qualifying events, points, etc.) - and, indeed, the schema we've
largely extended has been schema.org/SportsEvent.  I'll endeavor to
organize this work in a format I can share with all as soon as possible.
