The Spec Annotation Community Group has been launched: The current W3C process for commenting on specifications is complicated and discouraging to users. Discovering previous comments is also challenging, and leads to lost time. It's also difficult for spec editors to matching out-of-band comments sent through email or issue-trackers to the spec itself. Having an annotation sidebar that lets users create, review, and resolve spec comments would make the workflow much easier. For the past several months, the WebPlatform.org team has been working to integrate the Annotator project to allow spec annotations, and it is ready for experimental use for W3C working groups. The Spec Annotation Community Group will collect use cases and requirements, feature requests, and bug reports, and will help coordinate feature implementation and bug fixes. This group will not publish specifications. In order to join the group, you will need a W3C account. This is a community initiative. This group was originally proposed on 2014-11-24 by Doug Schepers. The following people supported its creation: Doug Schepers, Renoir Boulanger, Arthur Barstow, Philippe Le Hégaret, Amy van der Hiel. W3C's hosting of this group does not imply endorsement of the activities. The group must now choose a chair. Read more about how to get started in a new group and good practice for running a group. We invite you to share news of this new group in social media and other channels. If you believe that there is an issue with this group that requires the attention of the W3C staff, please email us at site-comments@w3.org Thank you, W3C Community Development Team ---------- This post sent on Spec Annotation Community Group 'Call for Participation in Spec Annotation Community Group' https://www.w3.org/community/spec-annotation/2014/11/24/call-for-participation-in-spec-annotation-community-group/ Learn more about the Spec Annotation Community Group: http://www.w3.org/community/spec-annotation
