Re: 2026 Roadmap for the Solid CG

Hi all,

Thanks to Jesse and Oli for bringing this to the CG, and for the work on
the roadmap. It’s encouraging to see ODI investing in adoption, and
alignment with the CG makes good sense.

I do want to flag a concern with the use of "Solid 1.0" in partner-facing
communications. While I understand the intent, to signal maturity, the term
carries specific technical expectations. Some long-standing roadmap items
remain open, and labeling this as "1.0" risks setting expectations that
partners may reasonably test.

A possible alternative would be to use a codename for this milestone (e.g.,
Solid Foundation). This still gives ODI a clear adoption narrative, without
the CG implicitly endorsing a version number that doesn't yet reflect spec
status.

This preserves "1.0" for when we’ve genuinely earned it, which will
ultimately be a stronger signal to the ecosystem.

Best,
Melvin
