Do this now, or several people you could well will waste thousands of
dollars and spends a lifetime in airport lounges for no good reason.

MAKE SURE YOUR NAME IS SOMEWHERE ON THAT PAGE, with the right statement
about the trip. Even if you have NO IDEA if you're going, say that.
But please try to say a little more than that, like "I'm trying to get
funding; I've told them if I don't have an answer by September 7 then
bad things. Still waiting."
