We had our (almost) weekly task force call today. This email summarizes the key items and next steps. 1. It was noted that we have not been using the mailing list. We should! So I am using it. Please confirm that you receive this so I know that most of us accepted the subscription to this list. 2. Our next call will be on 23 April. Due to some conflicts the time has been moved. It will be 11AM-1PM Eastern (8AM Pacific, 5PM Central Pacific, 11PM China). Especially the end of this interval is difficult for many, so we will try to complete in less than two hours. 3. Minutes can be found at http://www.w3.org/2012/04/16-social-minutes.html 4. We spent a fair bit of time talking about the discussion at the AC meeting in mid-May. Our AC presentation will consist of: * An outline of the social networking block diagram and associated narrative * A set of initial proposals about what work W3C should do in this area. Proposals would be of two forms: o A scope of standardization work that perhaps should come to W3C. o A scope of a workshop that W3C should convene to entertain proposed new standards work at W3C (potentially jointly with some other standards group) In the discussion, there was a sense that we may today be more prepared for the latter (workshop proposals) than the former (standardization proposals), but we'll see how things proceed over the next few weeks. For next week's meeting, everyone is encouraged to provide proposals. 5. The agenda for the 23 April meeting is as follows: * Ann and team will provide an update on the social networking block diagram * Lloyd and team will provide a discussion on the narrative surrounding the block diagram * If we get any proposals for discussion at the AC meeting (either standard proposals or workshop proposals) we will discuss them. Thanks, all. Jeff
