I'm Raphaël Troncy, currently researcher in the Centre for Mathematics and Computer Science (CWI) in Amsterdam (NL) but soon lecturer and researcher in the multimedia department of the EURECOM telecom institute in Sophia Antipolis (FR). My research interests include Semantic Web and Multimedia Technologies, Knowledge Representation for the Web, Ontology Modeling and Alignment. I'm interested in this incubator group because I also strongly believe that social data should be fully controlled and owned by users, and not locked into some walled-gardens. I would like to contribute into establishing good practices and building the infrastructure that will enable a truly decentralized, trustworthy and privacy controlled social web. I'm finally used to W3C practices. I have co-chaired the Multimedia Semantics Incubator Group [1] and I'm now co-chairing the Media Fragments Working Group [2]. I have also participated in the Semantic Web Deployment Working Group [3] and I'm now active in the Media Annotations Working Group [4]. I hope to bring here various perspectives from these groups and act as liaison with them.
