Hello all, My name is Toby and I'm an alcoholic^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H invited effort. I'm involved in the Microformats community, and have a general interest in web semantics - especially in bridging the gaps between the human- and machine-readable web. I've also recently joined the libre.fm development team, a project which Matt Lee has already announced on this mailing list. As the software developed by the project can be downloaded and installed by anyone locally, I'm interested in what this interest group's work on decentralised social networks might be able to bring to libre.fm in terms of cross-installation subscriptions and groups. I've personally always resisted joining the latest MyFriendBookSpaceClub.com-type sites, believing that if I've got my own website I should be able to use that as my online hub. The Web is The Social Network (or at least, I think it should be). I hope that this interest group goes a small way towards achieving that. -- Toby A Inkster <mailto:mail@tobyinkster.co.uk> <http://tobyinkster.co.uk>
