Note that the final version of the charter has been submitted to the W3C by Daniel Appelquist. The final formatted version is here [1]. Right now we are waiting for the AC reps of the initiating members to e-mail their support. There was a minor delay due to some concerns of the AC representatives, and these concerns have all been addressed. We should launch the group shortly, I expect telecons to start first week of April. Another e-mail will be sent out to determine telecon times. Also, for all non-W3C members (the vast majority of you out there), note that after the group is launched, Invited Expert Applications will be available via an online Web form. The "invited expert" process is basically a guarantee that all non-W3C members agree to the royalty-free licensing policy - so, don't worry about the form, it's a necessary bit of virtual paperwork. We'll then do an introduction to W3C for all the people about how WGs and XG generally works. [1]http://www.ibiblio.org/hhalpin/homepage/drafts/soccharter.html cheers, harry
