The exercise this month is to focus on scenarios and ultimately use cases that better explore and exploit profiles. There were also several one to two line use cases in the Social Working Group that I brought over and tried to expand into a few scenarios. To me the key is to get at the heart of portability (be it a federated model or something else). So yes, in the incubator area there are a few thought starters that might provoke a discussion and scenario on visibility of profile info, while some of the other sources consider reuse and portability that also need to consider visibility (user control of who sees what.) Plus I’m sure there is some potential need for normalization, or an ability to semantically link context (a nurse’s version of flow control may be very different than an IT developer’s one!). Fortunately we don’t have to actually solve the complexity this month, we just need to home in on a few use cases that help prioritize efforts to solve them! In other words, what is really important to us, and how do we set up the use cases to articulate them? Thus, I don’t see bringing over the whole of the previous or adjacent work, just that which helps use get a few use cases set up. As we work though other areas of use cases, we can continue to dip back into previous works and adjacencies, so keeping the links to those sources documented should probably be up top and always in our line of sight. Larry did us the service of copying an assortment of use cases from the earlier work by the Social Web Incubator Group. (http://www.w3.org/2005/Incubator/socialweb/wiki/RequirementsAndUseCases-WorkArea ) Looking at that page, there is a huge list of types of social interactions. Most are not detailed out, but are generally descriptive enough in title. My question is, what's the most effective way for us to include this work to give the most comprehensive view? Is it enough to refer to that page, or do we need to copy it all over to the Social Web Interest Group wiki? Please review these new scenarios (and all the others on the page) as soon as you can, so we will be able to discuss them together. Thanks!
