Hello site redesign task force, I have good news to report: W3M (the W3C management team) approved the continuation of the site redesign project at our meeting in July. I would like to thank all of you for enabling us to get to this point. I hope you will stick around as the real fun starts. Right now it seems the principal challenge moving forward will be resources. There is mixed news on this front: - The site redesign project was included in the list of prioritized work for the W3C Systems Team. I anticipate we will call on their help from the start (for requirements development) and ramp up our requests substantially as we approach the implementation phase in the spring of next year. - I am investigating whether I can hire a designer on staff (based in China). I hope to know by mid-August. - I did get *additional* funding for the project. I will need to find sponsorships to make the project happen. The next phases of this project are listed in the wiki: http://www.w3.org/wiki/Headlights2013/SiteRedesign/Proposal#Strategic_Planning_Phase I plan to continue to use this mailing list for discussion of this project (review of proposals, etc.). We can meet by phone as necessary as well, although I am not likely to call a meeting before mid-August. Let me know if you have any questions. I hope you will continue to participate in this project and thank you again for your contributions so far. Ian -- Ian Jacobs <ij@w3.org> http://www.w3.org/People/Jacobs Tel: +1 718 260 9447
