W3C Site Redesign Task Force Updates

Folks,

I've drafted a project calendar for Phase 1, which includes proposed deliverables (see http://www.w3.org/wiki/Headlights2013/SiteRedesign/Calendar), and Ian has posted initial survey and analytics questions as well (see http://www.w3.org/wiki/Headlights2013/SiteRedesign#Analytics_and_Surveys).

Please take a few minutes to review/edit/supplement them prior to our next meeting on the 23rd.

I've also included a brief recap of the scope of our work in this phase below, as there seemed to be some questions related to this on our last call.

Our goals for Phase 1:
Develop a realistic three month project plan for the task force
Establish clear, actionable and prioritized goals for the redesign informed by stakeholders & user needs. We'll do this by:
Identifying key Audiences
Collecting a limited set of analytics data on the existing site
Drafting & administering brief surveys for members, chairs & the public
Analyzing collected data to:
Define the user groups/audiences & their needs; and
Draft prioritized goals for the redesign.
Catalog existing & missing resources (at a high level) and identify what is in scope
Identify success criteria and implementation requirements that will need to be met by the Phase II team
Estimate a budget & timeline range (for delivery in Q4 2014)
Draft formal Proposal document to go to bid in June/July

Proposal should include:
Mission/vision statement (separate task force)
Key audiences/users and their needs (include testimonials, etc.)
Prioritized goals & high-level vision for W3C site (including value proposition)
Scope of redesign
Implementation requirements
Success criteria
Estimated budget range and potential sponsors
Anticipated timeline for launch by end of 2014

Cheers,
Kelly
