[AGENDA] Guidance for Policy Makers Subgroup -- Monday 29 May 12pm EDT

Dear GPM-subgroup members and interested AGWG participants,

Agenda for Monday 29 May at 12pm EDT is further below, please read this summary first!

We made some great progress earlier this week, and brainstormed these ideas to help address "Situation 1" of the Use Cases document:

  * Encourage tools that have checkers in them, including automated and manual checks
  * Put in place a support system for people with disabilities to report issues they encounter
  * Elevate bugs based on their severity (based on work of the issue severity subgroup)
  * Have organizations define their own process under certain guardrails (e.g. "protocols")
  * Have organizations commit to a reasonable level of quality assurance and monitoring
  * Ensure reasonable processes/procedures in place to address issues in timely fashion
  * Provide guidance for organization to define what constitutes a bug and to identify them
  * Consider potential differences in different types of sectors (e.g. healthcare vs. sports)
  * Encourage identification of recurring patterns of bugs that impact particular disabilities

I documented these brainstorm ideas in our scratchpad document:

  *   https://docs.google.com/document/d/1B-qfTrPxnhIa0AxhPEF6SIDTLAGnneoauBRHGzS5q7U/edit#

Further ideas are in the Example Scenarios wiki page, Gregg's reviews (as attachments), and a recent thread on the AGWG mailing list:

  *   https://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/w3c-wai-gl/2023AprJun/0185.html

During the upcoming meeting, we will continue to plough through as many sections of the Use Cases for WCAG 3.0 document as we can:
