Dear all, > - Homework is to select an "Image Flow," which is an example of a type of image, and then look at the functional needs in that specific context, identifying and listing any barriers (in other words, any user needs). I categorized each list item (from a. to x.) as one of 7 types of images introduced by the WAI Tutorials. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1ExW-rY7K00un18z3Z243LvmznQ2YRCHNKAO6TDHKIiM/edit?usp=sharing * I copied the original document. So this URL is different from the original one. I'm not sure if this would help our future work. But I thought it would be better for us to share concrete examples of each list item to do this work. The Alt Text subgroup used to review the WAI Tutorials and HTML specification to gather examples before. So I walked through both of them again. Here are what I've done: - I kept the alphabetical bullet (from "a." to "x.") as is so that you can refer to the original list. - I added concrete examples to each list item so that we can be on the same page on what kind of images each list item would include. - I walked through the WAI Tutorials and HTML specification (HTML 5.3, not the Living Standard) to check if we missed any types of images. - Each link which starts with "Example X" will take you to the example documented in WAI Tutorials. I kept the number for each Example as is. - Just FYI, I also added examples from HTML specification, but each link will take you to HTML 5.3 "4.7.5.1. Requirements for providing text to act as an alternative for images <https://www.w3.org/TR/2021/NOTE-html53-20210128/semantics-embedded-content.html#alt-text>" as the HTML standard doesn't include graphic image examples in the "4.8.4.4 Requirements for providing text to act as an alternative for images <https://html.spec.whatwg.org/multipage/images.html#alt>" any more. - I added the following 2 list items we might have missed at the meeting: - "y. Images of text" in "1-4. Images of Text" - "z. An image not intended for the user" in "1-2. Decorative Images" It looks like the WAI Tutorial needs to add more examples because there are some list items which don't have concrete examples in the tutorial. I understand it is out of scope for our work :) Best Regards, Makoto 2022年10月15日(土) 0:14 Suzanne Taylor <suzanne.taylor@thingsentertainment.net>: > Minutes from the Silver Task Force and Community Group teleconference of > Friday 14 October are provided here. > > https://www.w3.org/2022/10/14-silver-minutes.html > =========================================================== > SUMMARY: > - Please double-check meeting times, as we enter autumn time changes > - The group worked on applying the process the Errors Subgroup used to > the topic of Images. > - Homework is to select an "Image Flow," which is an example of a type of > image, and then look at the functional needs in that specific context, > identifying and listing any barriers (in other words, any user needs). > > > > -- > > > >
