Hello! My name is Sarah Indano. I found out about the Silver Community Group through LinkedIn and joined as soon as possible. I am a recent graduate of the Flatiron School's Software Engineering program and my background is as a Guide Dog Mobility Instructor for The Seeing Eye (training dogs to lead people who are blind/low vision and training the teams to work together). This combination has uniquely spurred on my passion for accessibility early on in my career as a software engineer. The problems that you mention about WCAG are problems that I personally faced as well, and for my capstone project I worked on the best solution I could think of as a single, new software developer. A video of my final presentation is linked below. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rZNmBPxd2y0 Essentially, my thought was to create an application that a user could have access to an easy to read lesson about everything within WCAG, separated on to individual pages. They would then have access to a code sandbox that could have different languages of code for many of the different uses and ways to hit the success criteria (with examples of accessible code, inaccessible code, and how to test it). I would love to talk more about this if you are interested. Hoping that I can help to contribute to something that deeply interests me!
