W3C TPAC Conference 2018 will be held in Lyon, France from Monday 22 October until 26 October 2018. Registration has opened and will have "early bird" registration prices until July 31. The Silver Face to Face(F2F) meeting will be held on Monday 22 October and Tuesday 23 October. We will meet with the AGWG group for part of one of the two days, but we don't know which day yet. There usually is remote voice access, but keep in mind that Lyon is 6 hours ahead of US eastern time, so the Silver F2F will start at 3:00am eastern time. On Wednesday, the W3C Plenary day will showcase presentations from W3C leadership and key members, plus breakout sessions where any attendee can propose a session. We will probably present a breakout session on Silver, as we have done at TPAC since 2016. The Plenary day (Wednesday) is optional, although personally, I find it the most interesting day of TPAC week. There are usually a number of interesting technical accessibility presentations. The main TPAC page has links to hotel and travel information. The schedule page shows which groups are meeting on which day. We are listed as "Silver TF and CG" on Monday and Tuesday. Links: TPAC main page (includes links to hotel and transportation) <- https://www.w3.org/2018/10/TPAC/ TPAC schedule page <- https://www.w3.org/2018/10/TPAC/schedule.html TPAC Registration and Fees <- https://www.w3.org/2018/10/TPAC/#registration TPAC registration form <- https://www.w3.org/2002/09/wbs/35125/TPAC2018/ Registration instructions: You only need to complete this page if you are going to attend TPAC in person. https://www.w3.org/2002/09/wbs/35125/TPAC2018/ You will need your W3C account to register. Questions 1-5 require no answers. For questions #6 and 7, select the radio button for "Silver TF and CG" in the column for "Attending as a participant in this group". Questions 8-10 can be left blank or select "I will not attend" or "No" (unless, of course, you are an AC or AB member in which case you don't need these instructions). Question 11 asks whether you are attending on Wednesday. There is a fee for every day you attend, so don't say you will unless you want to pay the fee for that day. Question 12 is whether or not you will attend the evening reception (optional, no additional fee). If you plan to stay at TPAC for the entire week, you may answer questions 13 and 14 in the Observer column. The chair will contact you (or not) to say that you have permission to attend a few weeks before TPAC. Question 15 is important if you have food allergies. Before you submit your answers, select the checkbox above the "Submit your answers" to make sure it sends a copy to your email. If you don't receive the email, the form didn't go through and you should start again. Then you need to pay at https://www.w3.org/2016/04/payment/tpac.php which is a fairly obvious payment page. You can pay by Paypal or credit card. W3C is doing something new this year which is a voluntary increase to the daily fee (which pays for the room, lunch and breaks) to help fund W3C Invited Experts to attend. I don't believe that anyone in the Silver TF or CG is an Invited Expert and therefore is not eligible to receive these funds. Please send any questions about TPAC to me privately unless you think that it is of common interest. I hope to see many of you at TPAC! :) jeanne -- Jeanne Spellman
