Information Design Prototypes

I think we need to take a step back and cull through the research for all of the instances where a participant or researcher stated that they use an alternative site or source (outside of the TR, understanding, and techniques) to look up success criteria and guidance.

Case in point:

We are trying to build (and recruit to build) prototypes that reimagine the general format, IA and presentation of the guidelines. Many already exist. Some are perfectly suited to include in our testing strategy.

Example – recently rediscovered:

Jeremy Field of Viget in Boulder, CO built Interactive WCAG, “A filterable and shareable version of the WCAG 2.0 spec.”
GitHub: https://github.com/vigetlabs/interactive-wcag

GitHub Pages: http://code.viget.com/interactive-wcag/#role=&level=aa

This is a really good effort that considers aspects that we are working toward, like role-based filtering.

We should collect an inventory of links to such prototypes and alternative sources, then determine which to include in testing.

We should also reach out to and recruit the authors of these sources.

Cheers,
