Dear all,
It was great to have a new meeting. A big thanks to those who could make
it. Coincidentally, our first meeting was almost exactly five years ago.
The meeting was short, but a good start. My takeaway is that many
researchers could benefit from the group's work, and there are many
exciting ways to collaborate. There will be some follow-up messages in
the upcoming weeks.
Below are my notes from the meeting, which I'll be adding to the wiki in
the following days.
---
4 Attendees: Fernando Sánchez (UPM), Viviana Patti (UNITO), Álvaro
Carrera (UPM), Shamsudden Hassan (UP)
There have been 3 no-shows. We might need to investigate the cause
before the next meeting.
* Introduction of new participants
* State of affairs
* All participants express their intention to collaborate and to
reactivate the group
* Guidelines draft (20'):
* Presentation and intent
* Discussion
* Is GitHub+mailing list a good collaboration option?
* Google drive (or an alternative) is suggested as an alternative
for collaboration, because it is friendlier for non-developers. Changes
in that document can then be incorporated into the public document.
* The document can be added as a draft to the group's website
* Other proposals for collaboration, such as other documents and
publications
* Guidelines for including sentiment/emotion into other ontologies
* Guidelines for annotation of sentiment/emotion corpora
* Scheduling and ideas for the next meeting (postponed)
* Any other business
* It would be interesting guide newcomers to good resources for
linked data, and to summarize its benefit for sentiment analysis in
particular
* The wiki should be updated: there are new projects and resources
* Some researchers do not know whether they belong in or can benefit
from the group. We should work on that.
* Action points (before the next meeting):
* All participants will read the proposal and provide feedback
* All participants in the group can request access to the
organization in GitHub
* Send a poll to plan the next meeting
