Hi all, Below is a draft that monica schraefel and I have been preparing for a Semantic Web User Interaction workshop at ISWC2006. What do you all think? The deadline is April 3rd (in one week, thus). CFP is at http://iswc2006.semanticweb.org/workshop_tutorial/workshops.htm . This draft follows the format from the CFP. And now the proposal: Semantic Web User Interaction Full-day workshop Technical Description: This workshop addresses how users can interact with information represented with Semantic Web technologies. Issues include defining paradigms for interaction, their corresponding technical interfaces and the mapping of Semantic Web constructs to them. We aim to map the "problem space" that binds these issues together. Current Interest: While there is much activity on Semantic Web research and deployment, the focus seems on getting information into repositories rather than on how to present it to the final users. The HTML-based Web often gives very many users rich interaction with information stored in pre-Semantic formats. We see making this now-familiar rich interaction available for information stored on the Semantic Web as well. Furthermore, we would like to see how Semantic Web offers new possibilities for further enriching user interaction with information. Audience: This workshop is of interest to anyone who wants to make information stored with Semantic Web technologies presentable to end users. This includes those who create RDF and OWL code to represent information for distribution, crafters of interfaces to Semantic Web repositories and those interested in revisited and new paradigms for human interaction with the Semantic Web.
