We have two openings for PhD student positions at the King Abdullah University of Science and Technology in Saudi Arabia. The PhD candidates will work on biological and biomedical applications of Semantic Web technologies, in particular in the development of machine learning methods that utilize Linked Data and ontologies. The PhD students will join a productive research team at one of the fastest-growing research universities, located in Thuwal, Saudi Arabia, by the Red Sea. More information about the research group and ongoing projects can be found on http://borg.kaust.edu.sa Applicants should hold an MSc degree in computer science, electrical engineering, mathematics or statistics, have excellent programming skills, experience in machine learning, and be willing to work collaboratively on exciting AI projects with biomedical applications. PhD students are entitled to a very competitive stipend, free, fully-furnished housing on the KAUST campus, free medical and life insurance, and free education at KAUST schools for the student's children.
