[LLD] Reminder: ReDD-Observatory project today at 11AM ET / 5PM CET

Trying Google Hangout for audio, this time *without* Zakim, to avoid
feedback loops. Amrapali will send a link out in e-mail and on the IRC
channel to the hangout, which we will use for screen sharing and
audio. If you have problems, send mail to mscottmarshall@gmail.com.

We didn't have enough participation (from HCLS) on Sept 3 so decided
to postpone Amrapali's ReDD-Observatory project presentation until
today. We also learned that it's best not to make your hangouts
Public.

NOTE: mibbit seems to have stopped working. Try the above.

Duration: ~1 hour
Frequency: weekly

Amrapali Zaveri Abstract below:

Abstract:
In the second part of the presentation, the application of the GHO
dataset in evaluating the disparity between the availability of
treatment options and the global burden of disease will be described,
that is, the ReDD-Observatory project. The disparity is partially
caused by the limited access to information that would allow health
care and research policy makers make more informed decisions regarding
health care services. The hindrance lies in reliably obtaining and
integrating data regarding the disease burden and the respective
research investments. Therefore, as the Linked Data paradigm provides
a simple mechanism for publishing and interlinking structured
information on the Web, an opportunity is created to reduce this
information gap that would allow for better policies in response to
these disparities. The details of the process involved in evaluating
the disparity will thus be discussed in detail.
