This is to let you know that ISO 25964-1, the new international standard
for thesauri and interoperability, has recently been published and
supersedes the
well-worn ISO 2788 and ISO 5964. It's another step in support of the
Semantic Web, with applications in many other areas of information
retrieval and networking.

Systems developers may like to know that a thesaurus data model and xml
schema are now available online, 24/7, without password control,

There is a press release with more details on the NKOS website
athttp://nkos.slis.kent.edu/ (thanks to Marcia Zeng).

Please pass on this message to anyone who might be interested.

Thanks and Best wishes for 2012,
