Reminder: BioRDF telcon today Nov. 8 at 11AM EDT (4PM UK, 5PM CET)

This is a reminder that the next BioRDF telcon call will be held at
11AM EDT (4PM UK, 5PM CET) on Monday, Nov. 8 (see details below).
Dietrich Rebholz and Christoph Grabmuller of the Rebholz Group at EBI
will be present to talk to us about RDF representations of microarray
studies, and more.

Dietrich Rebholz (EBI) will present about the Pistoia SESL project.
This should serve as background for discussion about representing
microarray results in RDF and what we might ask from microarray
services that eventually provide direct access to RDF data from, for
example, ArrayExpress.

Title: Interoperability of resources in the SESL pilot

Abstract:
Literature resources form an important pylon in the data infrsturcture
of biomedical data resources, since the scientific literature enables
to bridge across the different biomedical and chemical domains. As
part of the SESL pilot project the Rebholz group have integrated
content from UniProtKb, ArrayExpress (GeneAtlas) and the scientific
literature from different publishers into a triple store. The triple
strore supports retrieval of evidence on gene-to-disease relations for
Type II diabetes. The integration of ArrayExpress is ongoing work.
Furthermore, the partners in the SESL pilot project are exploring the
definition of common standards to include contributions from different
sites in the framework of a brokering service.

Cheers,
Scott
