accompanying teleconference. This week's meeting, LexGrid - Philosophy,
Model and Interfaces, will be presented by Dr. Chris Chute and
Colleagues, Division of Biomedical Informatics, Mayo Clinic. To see the

This series aims to showcase new projects, technologies and ideas in
biomedical ontology by featuring the work of a different collaborator
each session. It is a webinar held online, and as such is open to anyone
interested, regardless of location or affiliation.

Title: "LexGrid - Philosophy, Model and Interfaces"

Abstract: We will discuss the LexGrid terminology model and its
implementation.  We will begin by describing the requirements that led
to the creation of the model, the general principles and approach of the
model, and some of key aspects of the model representation.  We will
then describe one of the implementations of the model, named "LexBIG"
for LexGrid in the Cancer Bioinformatics Grid (caBIG).
