The HCLSIG membership and mailing list

We think that active participation will be necessary in order to support
the key developments that we would like to see taking place in HCLSIG,
and therefore urge official participation in the group. We would like to
encourage many of you to consider offically joining the HCLSIG group,
either as W3C members or Invited Experts and participating in
teleconference calls as well as on the mailing list. We hope that this
helps to clarify the intended spirit of activities in this group.

Just before we ended last week's HCLS call, Scott asked Eric
Prud'hommeaux to talk about the mailing list and membership policy. Eric
provided an answer to questions in the thread started by the text "The
W3C mailing lists will be limited to interest group participants.": YES,
the mailing list remains open for public comment. Furthermore, those of
you who already have e-mail subscriptions will retain them. However, the
current "single button" method of subscribing will change for future
subscribers. Those without HCLSIG membership status that wish to
subscribe in the future will need to send mail to Eric Prud'hommeaux
(CC'd here).
