Re: HCLS SW "Web Metro Map"

Matthias mentions at the bottom of the web page he's created GraphViz
(or it's Protege-OWL plugin - OWLViz). The latter can automatically
produce nice visualized graphs straight from an OWL file in Protege -
giving the user the ability to expand or collapse specific nodes.

Inkscape - as he mentions - is a wonderful open source tool for
creating very nice, static graphics (a little easier to use for this
purpose than GIMP).

I would also bring up the tool & framework Alan has mentioned several
times - Vizter (http://jheer.org/vizster/) and the underlying
library, Prefuse (http://prefuse.org/). This is an excellent tool
set for creating dynamic views of complex, graphs where nodes are
enriched with a constellation of properties which one would like to
use to drive the slicing and dicing of the underlying RDF store.

Cheers,
Bill
