I strongly agree with the several endorsements to make use of the BioPortal for this requirement. In working directly with NCBO on the ontology component of what we're doing, we will also be much more likely be aware of - and make use of - the other relevant ontologies being aggregated with the BioPortal. This is not to negate the importance of the technical and licensing issues that have been brought up. Clearly, Alan, Helen, & others have already provided very important feedback on these issues which goes even further to endorse the value of our working with NCBO in this context.
