I would like to introduce a new project that will make use of BioPAX: the Semantic Synapse Project. The main focus of the project is the appliance of Semantic Web technology for information sharing in neuroscientific research (especially in the field of synaptic function and neurotransmission).

My group is situated at the Section on Medical Expert and Knowledge-Based Systems (Medical University of Vienna) and consits of me (PhD student, neuroscience) and two students of computer science that are doing their master theses. I have submitted a grant application for the project, but funding is not ensured yet.
