FYI: Local devices API proposal in WICG that builds on Open Screen Protocol

Hi,

For your info, a recent proposal was made in the WICG for a Local 
devices API, to discover and exchange with existing devices on one's 
LAN:

I pointed the proposer at the Open Screen Protocol, which could perhaps 
provide some of the building blocks for a more generic API. They 
prepared an initial draft specification that builds on it:
