We offer support for desktop Chrome as a receiver through our Cast for EDU Chrome extension [3]. It uses Google cloud services for discovery instead of the LAN. Note we recently completed a backend migration and Presentation API support may not be fully functional in the current release of Cast for EDU. A quick test with photowall didn't work for me. We'll work on bringing it back though. I filed this bug so you can track progress: https://bugs.chromium.org/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=879215 [3] https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/google-cast-for-education/bnmgbcehmiinmmlmepibeeflglhbhlea m.
