Dear members of the Second Screen Working Group, I'm relaying the announcement to the Group's primarily public mailing list, to notify the group of its charter extension. Best regards, Xueyuan -------- Forwarded Message -------- Subject: Second Screen Working Group Charter Extended Date: Thu, 19 Oct 2017 18:34:10 +0800 From: Xueyuan <xueyuan@w3.org> To: w3c-ac-members@w3.org CC: chairs@w3.org Dear Advisory Committee Representative, Chairs, The Second Screen Working Group [1] Charter [2] is hereby extended until 31 December 2017. The group develops the Presentation API [3] and the Remote Playback API [4]. Both specifications are at the Candidate Recommendation stage. The group expects to request to be re-chartered at the end of the year to finalize work on test suites, publish the specifications as final Recommendations, and start work on level 2 features. The group would like to finalize scoping discussions during its face-to-face at TPAC in light of recent discussions and progress made by the Second Screen Community Group on a common Open Screen Protocol [5], suitable for the above-mentioned APIs. If you have any questions or need further information, please contact François Daoust <fd@w3.org>, the Second Screen Working Group Staff Contact, for a total of 0.20 FTE. This extension follows section 5.2.5 of the W3C Process Document: https://www.w3.org/2017/Process-20170301/#charter-extension Thank you, For Tim Berners-Lee, W3C Director, Philippe Le Hégaret, Project Management Lead, and François Daoust, Second Screen WG Staff Contact; Xueyuan Jia, W3C Marketing & Communications [1] https://www.w3.org/2014/secondscreen/ [2] https://www.w3.org/2014/secondscreen/charter-2016.html [3] https://w3c.github.io/presentation-api/ [4] https://w3c.github.io/remote-playback/ [5] https://github.com/webscreens/openscreenprotocol
