Preliminary discussions for the [proposed DataCue WICG activity]( https://github.com/w3c/strategy/issues/113#issuecomment-432971265) have yielded an alternative solution. As HTML 5.2 already represents an unbounded stream using [`media.duration=Infinity`](https://www.w3.org/TR/html52/semantics-embedded-content.html#offsets-into-the-media-resource), this idea could be extended to include `TextTrackCue.endTime`.
