[sdw] Video Metadata Question: Use cases & requirements for interpolation schemes (#1136)

rjksmith has just created a new issue for https://github.com/w3c/sdw:

== Video Metadata Question: Use cases & requirements for interpolation schemes ==
WebVMT uses linear interpolation to estimate instantaneous values for [path](https://w3c.github.io/sdw/proposals/geotagging/webvmt/#paths) locations and [animation](https://w3c.github.io/sdw/proposals/geotagging/webvmt/#animations) attributes in the time intervals between measured data, which mirrors location [interpolation in OGC Moving Features](http://docs.opengeospatial.org/is/18-075/18-075.html#90).

The issue of support for other interpolation schemes, e.g. splines, was raised during the breakout discussion in the [Spatial Data on the Web meeting on 25 June 2019](https://www.w3.org/2017/sdwig/meetings/f2f-4.html) at [OGC TC in Leuven](http://www.ogcmeet.org/pastevents/1906tc/index.php), and identified in the [conclusions](https://github.com/w3c/sdw/issues/1130#issuecomment-508531749) as an outstanding question which should be resolved.

**Question:** Is there a requirement to calculate intermediate video metadata values using schemes other than linear interpolation, and what are those use cases?
