"Public Working Draft" I crafted this announcement for OGC (which you may not be able to get to as it is on the member's portal): --- Semantic Sensor Network Ontology - 2023 Edition The First Public Working Draft of a new edition of the SSN Ontology (including SOSA) has been published by W3C and OGC. This is an invitation for comment on a proposed standard. The new edition updates the RDF implementation of OGC’s O&M that was issued as a joint W3C Recommendation (i.e. Standard) and OGC Implementation Specification in 2017. It is prompted by the release of OGC’s updated Observations, Measurements, and Samples (OMS) Standard (2023) https://www.ogc.org/standards/om/, as well as alignment with OGC API – Connected Systems https://www.ogc.org/standards/ogc-api-connected-systems/ and OGC SensorThings API https://www.ogc.org/standards/sensorthings/. Highlights of the new edition include: - Collections (sets) of Observations, Samples, Samplings, and Actuations - Simplified “System Capabilities” module to describe Sensors, Samplers and Actuators - Consolidation of core terms in a single namespace; cleaner modularization of the ontology - Extensive suite of patterns and examples, demonstrating the use of SSN in various scenarios and applications Numerous updates and fixes have been made in response to feedback from users, while preserving all features of the 2017 edition to protect existing deployments. The draft is available: - as a PDF from OGC Pending Documents: Semantic Sensor Network Ontology - 2023 Edition https://portal.ogc.org/files/?artifact_id=111642&version=1 - as HTML from W3C: https://www.w3.org/TR/vocab-ssn-2023/ Please make your comments at https://github.com/w3c/sdw-sosa-ssn/issues. --- Cheers - Simon dr.shorthair@pm.me https://github.com/dr-shorthair +61 403 302 672 On Boonwurrung land Sent with Proton Mail secure email.
